Student Access to Google AI Tools Now Available

Through U of I’s participation in the Google AI for Education Accelerator program, students have one year of free access to Google AI Pro — including Gemini and NotebookLM — as well as AI training resources.

All students will receive an email on, Sept. 22, with program details and must sign up by Monday, Oct. 6, to participate. This opportunity is optional and tied to personal Gmail accounts, not U of I email accounts.

The program is provided by Google and currently does not include U of I employees; however, the Office of Information Technology is exploring future opportunities.
